How to Reach NERIST

Multiple convenient options to reach Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh from across India and the world.

By Air

Two airports serve the region. Hollongi Airport (HGI) in Itanagar is the newest and closest — just ~20 km from NERIST. Lilabari Airport (IXI) in North Lakhimpur, Assam is ~100 km away and offers more national connectivity.

By Rail

Naharlagun Railway Station (NHLN) is the nearest railhead, just ~5 km from NERIST — making it the most convenient option. It is well connected to Guwahati (via Rangiya Jn.) and other major Indian cities.

Auto-rickshaws, taxis, and shared vehicles available from Naharlagun station to campus

By Road

NERIST is on NH-415, well-connected to Itanagar and Guwahati. Regular APST buses and private vehicles run from Guwahati ISBT (~260 km / ~6-7 hrs). Taxis and cabs easily available from Guwahati to Nirjuli.

The Assam-Arunachal border (Balipara) is well-marked; ILP check-post at AP entry point
